Kunuk to chair education group

The Iqaluit district education authority has a new leader at the helm.

Christa Kunuk will be the group’s chair for 2005.

IDEA members chose Kunuk at a meeting earlier this month. She will replace Andrew Tagak, Sr., who served as chair last year.

The IDEA chair oversees meetings and serves as a spokesperson for the group, which represents community concerns in education, such as lobbying government for more school resources.

The group’s next meeting is Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Nakasuk school library. Anyone is welcome to attend.
