June 3, 2005
Steven Kanayok and Christine Tootoo check out "Keyhole," a geoscience computer application that shows detailed satellite pictures of Nunavut. The demonstration was part of the unveiling of the Nunavut Broadband Development Corporation's new territorial satellite network, Qiniq, held in Rankin Inlet last week. "The teachers' jaws dropped when we were showing this to kids," said Lorraine Thomas of NBDC. About 275 people and several dignitaries attended the event. (PHOTO BY P.
