Arctic
Ventures gives hospital fund $20,000
Dorothy Barton, Pallulaaq Ford and Mary Munick accepted a $20,000 cheque from
Arctic Ventures manager John Bens, and owner Kenn Harper. The money will buy
a fetal heart monitor and two breast pumps for the Baffin Regional Hospital.
The donation marked the 20th anniversary of Harper's ownership of Arctic Ventures
2000 Ltd. In 1985, Harper bought the Arctic Ventures store in Iqaluit from Bryan
Pearson.
"This community has been very good to us," Harper said during a cheque
presentation on June 20. "We decided we wanted to do something to support
the community, the region and the territory." (PHOTO BY GREG YOUNGER-LEWIS)
