Artists at the visitors centre
Tuesday, Aug. 16, Unikkaavik Visitors Centre, Rannva will demonstrate her seal skin design work from 2 - 4 p.m. and on Wednesday, Gloria Putumiraqtuq will be making tapestries/wall hangings from 2 - 4 p.m.

International Youth Performance Night
Thursday, Aug. 18, 7 p.m., Parish Hall. Delegates from the Inuit Circumpolar Youth Conference and from Iqaluit will share music and song. Admission is $2. Coffee, tea and cookies will be available.

Concert Friday, Coffee House Saturday
Friday, Aug. 19, 7 p.m. Kids from the Iqaluit Music Society's Music Camp will perform in concert at Joamie School. On Saturday, Aug. 20, 7 p.m., the Music Society will hold a coffee house at the Parish Hall.

Nunavut Arts Festival
Friday, Sept. 2 to Friday, Sept. 9 in Iqaluit. The Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association holds the sixth annual Nunavut Arts Festival in the capital. For information call NACA at 979-7808, email naca@nunanet.com or visit their website at www.NACAarts.org.

Artists at the visitors centre
On Tuesday, Aug. 9, Ituluk Salomonie will be carving outside the Unikkaarvik Visitors Centre from 2 - 4 p.m. On Wednesday, Kalingo Sataa will be carving from 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Next week, on Tuesday, Aug. 16, Rannva will demonstrate her seal skin design work from 2 - 4 p.m. and on Wednesday, Gloria Putumiraqtuq will be making tapestries/wall hangings from 2 - 4 p.m.

Tuesday night ball hockey
Every Tuesday, Arctic Winter Games Arena. Drop-in ball hockey goes from 6 to 7 p.m. for ages 13 - 18 and 7 to 8 p.m. for ages 18 plus. For info, call Gary at 979-5617.

Nunavut Stars Hockey Camp
Aug. 7 - 10, Old Arena. Daily on-ice and off-ice sessions for ages ranging from seven and under to 14-18. Participants will take part in workshops such as on-ice skill development, goal-tending skills, power skating, off-ice fitness programs, youth counseling and nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Free Music Camp
Aug. 15 - 19, Joamie School. Featuring drum dancing, throat singing, fiddle, guitar, band, choir, handbells, songs and games. For information, call Lora Blair at 979-1088 or the school principals.
