Nunavut’s Commissioner Ann Meekitjuk Hanson oversees Nanulik MLA Patterk Netser’s swearing in as Nunavut’s newest cabinet minister in Iqaluit last Friday. In a short speech after the ceremony, Premier Paul Okalik said he was happy to have Netser join the cabinet because, like Okalik, “he’s a Montreal Canadiens fan.” Okalik warned Netser the cabinet members wouldn’t always agree on every issue, but they would work together and focus “on all of Nunavut.” Netser is, for now, a minister without portfolio.
