Snowmobile mishap injures Kuujjuaq crown prosecutor

Kuujjuaq lawyer Louis-Christian Boisvert broke both his legs and received a severe concussion last Thursday night, after he was hit by a snowmobile.

Capt. Carl Pépin of the Kativik Regional Police Force said three drivers had been racing their snowmobiles out on the lake. One of the drivers wasn’t able to stop in time to avoid hitting Boisvert.

Pépin said snowmobile drivers should be wary of the consequences of racing at high speeds, particularly on the ice, in low visibility or at night.
