Not racing after all
In a news brief published
on Jan. 18 in Nunatsiaq News, Capt. Carl Pépin from the Kativik Regional
Police Force is quoted as saying that Louis-Christian Boisvert, the Crown Prosecutor
who was injured when a Skidoo hit him, Alain Lance and another man had been
racing their snowmobiles out on the lake. The trio, however, were apparently
not racing before the accident.

Name/place mix-up
In an article published
in the Feb. 1 edition of the Nunatsiaq News the names of the participants in
this years Ivakkak Cup race were mismatched with their home communities.
Nunatsiaq News apologizes for any confusion or embarrassment that resulted from
this editing error.
The list of participants
should have read: Charlie Watt Jr., Junior May and George Edward Annanack from
Kuujjuaq; Massiu Nassak from Kangirsuk; Harry Okpik and Willy Kulula from Quaqtaq;
Taamusi Sivuaraapik and Bobby Novalinga from Puvirnituq; and Simeonie Elijassiapik,
Charlie Inukpuk and Adamie Inukpuk from Inukjuak.

No decision yet in Salluit
A news brief published
in the Feb. 1 edition of Nunatsiaq News about a recent visit by avalanche experts
to Nunavik should have said that Kangiqsujuaqs tank farm will be moved
next summer, however, theres been no agreement yet on where Salluit will
move its tank farm.
