Chamber open for business

The Iqaluit Chamber of Commerce is rejuvenated.

The chamber has elected a new board of directors and is planning a series of monthly meetings.

An array of local business people sit on the new board. Steve Cook, owner of Nunastar Properties, is the board’s president. Sean Maloney of Subway and Mary Browns is the first vice-president, while Bettyann Eaton of First Air is the second vice-president.

Iqaluit’s mayor, John Matthews, will attend the Chamber of Commerce’s first meeting, scheduled for April 10. Matthews will discuss issues of interest to the business community: public private partnerships, land-use planning and capital infrastructure.

The meetings are only open to Chamber of Commerce members.
