Arvaluk appeals new trial order Nanulik MLA James Arvaluk and his Yellowknife lawyer Peter Fuglsang have launched an appeal to overturn Crown’s request for a new trial in a case involving Arvaluk and his former girlfriend. Arvaluk was found not guilty of assault causing bodily harm against Sophie Sangoya last summer. On March 7, Justice John Richard overturned the ruling and ordered a new trial. The matter went before judge Beverly Browne on April 8 and was adjourned until May 6. |
