Air service agreement

First Air and local Iqaluit company, Unaalik Aviation Inc., have entered into a long-term commercial agreement to assume operation of certain sectors of air service in Nunavut that First Air does not or will no longer provide.

For example, Unaalik Aviation Inc., owned by Jimi Onalik, will operate service between Iqaluit and Kimmirut on behalf of First Air.

Passengers will still be able to collect Aeroplan frequent flyer points and buy their tickets from travel agents or from First Air.

"This is a big step forward for Unaalik Aviation and an opportunity created by our recent addition of Twin Otter aircraft to our company," Onalik said
