Tankers head for Baffin region

Tankers carrying a fresh supply of gasoline for Nunavut are travelling to communities during August and September. The tankers will unload the new gas and pick up tanks that contain the remaining gas from the 2001 supply.

The Ellen Knutsen has already made its deliveries to Iqaluit and Cape Dorset. It's expected in Repulse Bay between Aug. 22 and 25, and will then make its way to Igloolik by about Aug. 26.
The Torill Knutsen will travel up the Baffin coast, arriving in Qikiqtarjuaq around Aug. 20, in Clyde River around Aug. 24 and Pond Inlet on the 27th.

Sanikiluaq can expect a tanker in port between Aug. 26 and 28.

The Golova, which recently unloaded gasoline in Iqaluit, will return to the capital city toward the end of August.
