Coroner calls it quits
Nunavuts chief coroner
has quit.
Elizabeth Copeland, the
first female Inuk to hold the position mandated to investigate suspicious deaths
and implement the Nunavut Coroners Act, said she decided not to renew
her contract as she had made a commitment to remain as chair of the Nunavut
Impact Review Board.
Tim Neily, Nunavuts
administrative coroner, will take over Copelands duties until a replacement
is found.
