Dangerous offender designation considered for Sanikiluaq man Crown lawyer Judy Chan said her office may apply to have Samwillie Meeko deemed a dangerous offender. Meeko, 32, who is in custody at BCC, is charged with four counts of sexual assault, three counts of indecent acts, one count of sexual interference and one count of invitation to sexual touching involving a minor. A preliminary hearing into the alleged incidents has been tentatively scheduled for Sanikiluaq later this month. However, Justice Beverley Browne ordered the matter return to court on Sept. 23 for further discussion regarding the dangerous offender application. |
