Floral Transformation by Kenojuak Ashevak, part of the 2002 Cape Dorset Print Collection.

The 2002 Cape Dorset Annual Print Collection opens Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. in the Nunatta Sunakkutaangit Museum in Iqaluit.

This year's collection features 30 new prints by 10 artists including Kenojuak Ashevak, Ohotaq Mikkigak and Sarni Pootoogook.

The Cape Dorset Print Collections began in 1960. One of each print from the 1960 Collection was assembled and sold as a group at auction in 2001 for about $150,000 US.

The museum will have a single set of the 2002 collection and proceeds from the sales will go to help support the museum society.

Because of the demand for the prints, a lottery will be held, allowing people a fair chance to purchase the works.
