Early morning stabbing leaves Puvirnituq man dead

A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in Puvirnituq early Wednesday morning, according to a press release issued by the Kativik Regional Government.

Police received a call around 1:45 a.m. on Oct. 9 reporting a fight at a local residence.

Officers arrived on the scene shortly after the call and found a man suffering from several knife wounds lying in the street.

They rushed him to Inuulitsivik Hospital but he died from the knife wounds he had sustained.

Police arrested an unidentified male suspect later that morning.

The name of the victim had not been released as of press time, but police said they would release his name after his family had been notified.
