Peter Pan in Iqaluit

Inuksuk High School in Iqaluit will present its first musical theatre production on Dec. 12, 13 and 14.

Peter Pan, a musical based on the play by James M. Barrie, is the story of a boy who did not want to grow up, his adventures with the Darling Children and the Lost Boys in Never Never Land, their meetings with Captain Hook, his nasty pirates and the Indians.

Students and teachers from the high school have made all the sets, props and costumes for the production, directed by Leah Shaw. Colleen Walsh is the musical director and Lorraine Thomas is producing the event. The Iqaluit Music Society has provided financial and technical support.

The Dec. 12 and 13 showings take place at 7:30 p.m. and the Dec. 14 performance is at 2 p.m.

There are no tickets for the production and admission is free, on a first-come, first-seated basis. Donations will be accepted at the door.
