Greenlanders thank Kuujjuammiut for Aqpik Jam visit

On behalf of our musician friends in Nuuk, we would like to send a personal thank-you to all the people who helped us during Aqpik Jam Fesitval in Kuujjuaq. We were nine people coming from Nuuk, Greenland.

There were three singers, one guitar base player, one guitar player, one keyboard, one drummer and two representatives from Greenland.

Thank you making our trip on Aug. 12, 2011 a success. We were very honored to be invited and welcomed in your hometown.

Thank you to Mayor Paul Parsons for corresponding with us prior to the festival. Thank you to Ida Saunders for being at the airport when we arrived and left on the plane. Thank you to Pasha Sequaluk for lending her house to the musicians.

Thank you for the drivers who helped us get around in our short and busy visit. Thank you for Martha Simigak and David White for welcoming us in their home. Thank for the dried fish and caribou and especially your homemade aqpik jam)

Thank you to Johnny and Levina Adams for making us delicious Nunavik food, especially, thank you Johnny for inviting us and making us feel at home in Kuujjuaq.

Thank you also to Alec Gordon for supporting us in our visit. Thank you to Simeonie Berthe and his wife for welcoming us in their home (Thank you for the music and the mattak.)

Thank you for Aqpik Jam committee for letting Mooqqu Løvstrøm, Najaaraq Møller and Pilu Noahsen perform in the last night’s show. Especially thank you for the Aqpik Jam music technicians.

Thank you to every person who helped us in Kuujjuaq. Last but not least, thank you especially to Air Nunavut for transporting us to the 2011 Aqpik Jam Festival.
