A polar-capable expedition yacht called “SeaXplorer” — similar to this artist’s rendering — was unveiled this week at a yacht show in Monaco. The ice-class yachts will allow for “life-changing encounters with exotic cultures, majestic wildlife and spectacular wildernesses.” The vessels, from 65 to 100 metres long, will be built to Polar Code specifications and be able to travel for up to 40 days at a time. They’ll also feature a helicopter hanger, dive center, optional decompression chamber, a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. (PHOTO/ DAMEN GROUP)
