The 2012 Mike Hine award, recognizing a person who has made a significant contribution to the mining industry in Nunavut, goes to Elizabeth Kingston, general manager of the Iqaluit office of the Nunavut and Northwest Territories Chamber of Mines. Others honoured April 19 with Canadian North Nunavut mining awards at the Nunavut Mining Symposium in Iqaluit include Peregrine Diamonds Ltd., which received the Murray Pyke Corporate award, recognizing the contribution of this mining exploration company to Nunavut, and Nunavut MP Leona Aglukkaq and Senator Dennis Patterson, who shared the award recognizing the contribution of a government department or organization to the advancement of the mining industry in Nunavut.
