A Pond Inlet man now faces charges for breaking and entering, after members of the RCMP responded to a call from a concerned resident in the late morning on Feb. 9.

Lanny Kippomee, 36, is also charged with possession of break-in tools, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation.

“Police alleged that when Mr. Kippomee was searched, he had a key for the house that had been stolen earlier and it was that stolen key Mr. Kippomee used to enter the house,” RCMP Cpl. Henry Coman said in a release on Monday, Feb. 12.

The man was arrested within a residence in the 600 block of the Baffin community of about 1,600.

He is now in custody until his next court date in Iqaluit, Feb. 20.
