Cambridge Bay hostel up for a new role

By NUNATSIAQ NEWS

The GN’s 2004-05 capital budget includes $500,000 to revamp and renovate the student hostel in Cambridge Bay into a patient residence.

“That is the plan that we have in place. We believe that it will be suitable and we will be able to facilitate that,” said health and social services minister Ed Picco.

But Picco said there’s no money in the capital plan to upgrade the Kitikmeot boarding home in Yellowknife because the budget for it falls under the Non-Insured Health Benefits program, which is funded by Health Canada.
