Nunavik gets bonus for medical equipment

Last week Quebec’s health department confirmed Nunavik’s two hospitals will receive $564,000 to buy or replace high-tech medical equipment. According to a prepared news release, this money is part of the $120 million in health transfers Quebec has managed to wrest back from Ottawa.

Of this amount, Puvirnituq’s Inuulitsivik Hospital will get $300,000, which will be used to buy an echography machine, a mobile x-ray machine, a dental x-ray machine, a defibrillator, a reanimation table and other equipment.

Kuujjuaq’s Tulattavik Hospital will acquire a new echography machine, a mobile x-ray machine, monitors and telemedical equipment.
